Even boys need motivation
- Reading ability: The girls surpassed the boys by a significant margin (34 points internationally, 42 points in Germany).
Especially grave: When it comes to reading abilities, 28% of the male students come in the risk zone as against 16.3% of the female students.
- In problem-solving skills, female students are just a little ahead of the male students in Germany.
- With 499 points in mathematics, girls are slightly less competent than boys who scored 508 points.
These results initiated the first gender surveys, which examined the causes that create problems in the development of young men.
